Should your copies and prints on your AltaLink become faint or have smudges, dots, or lines, there is an easy way to resolve the problem. Sometimes, cleaning the print heads is a quick and simple step anyone can do that will save your company downtime. Here is a quick guide to cleaning the print heads on your copier.
- Open the Front Cover of the printer.
- Turn the orange lever to the left.
- Then remove the Drum Cartridge Cover by releasing the two tabs on each side of the cover until it releases.
- Remove the cleaning tool located inside the front cover panel.
NOTE: The printhead lens cleaner does not detach from the printer.
Slowly push the printhead lens cleaner back into the printhead until it stops.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each printhead. There is a total of four, one for each drum cartridge.
- Close the Drum Cartridge Cover.
- Turn the orange lever to the right to return it to the locked position.
- Close the Front Cover.
All done! After this your prints should come out clean. If the problem persists, please place a service request by calling 1-800-821-2797 option 1.
